All activities of this institution are directed by the principles of the Seventh-day Adventist Church which is governed by the commandments of the Almighty One, the foundation of knowledge and wisdom. As a Seventh-day Adventist institution, the school operates under the mandate that “True education means more than the perusal of a certain course of study…...it is the harmonious development of the physical, mental and the spiritual powers….It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” The school incorporates the home, school, church and the wider community in its programmes to nurture the young minds entrusted to it. On completion of the student’s tenure at the school, he/she should be prepared for service in the world of work or the pursuit of higher education but most of all prepared for citizenship in the hereafter.
Students appreciate and experience spiritual growth through daily Bible study, chapel and worship sessions, termly week of prayer, pastoral visitations and church programmes.
Students develop their mental faculties through the vigorous pursuit of the academic programme based on the curriculum provided by the government.
Students develop physically by engaging in useful labour in agricultural plots, exercising on the compound and practicing healthy eating habits.
Students develop their social abilities through interaction with the community in outreach programs of giving and also by participating in useful cultural activities.
By ensuring that the student’s development is all-round, the school achieves its goals of ensuring that each student leaves with a sense of purpose and direction for life.
“True education means more than the perusal of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” (Education, p. 13)
“Let the children be taught that as they open their minds to pure, loving thoughts and do loving and helpful deeds, they are clothing themselves with His beautiful garment of character”. (Education, p. 249)
“True education does not ignore the value of scientific knowledge or literary acquirements; but above information it values power; above power, goodness; above intellectual acquirements, character”. (Education, p.225)
